Words Without Borders Education Fellowship 2025–26
Part-time
Remote
Words Without Borders seeks applicants for its 2025–26 education fellowship. The education fellowship program is designed to provide in-depth experience to individuals interested in a career in world literature—whether as scholars, educators, or curriculum developers. Working within WWB’s award-winning online education program, WWB Campus, the fellow will gain hands-on experience with the research and development of curricular resources, outreach to a diverse community of schools and educators, and digital project administration. During the fellowship period, WWB Campus will be developing its latest literary unit on writing from India and updating resources from its eight existing country units.
This is a unique opportunity for an early-career education or publishing professional to learn about international literary arts education and program administration while also contributing to WWB’s mission to expand access to eye-opening international literature.
The organization
Words Without Borders is the premier destination for a global literary conversation. Founded in 2003, our mission is to cultivate global awareness by expanding access to international writing and creating a bridge between readers, writers, and translators. Our award-winning digital magazine offers unparalleled access to the world’s literary voices.
Our education program, WWB Campus, draws on WWB’s rich archive to connect students and educators to eye-opening contemporary literature from across the globe. We present this literature alongside multimedia contextual materials, ideas for lessons, and pathways for further exploration. Our goal is to create a virtual learning space without borders, fostering meaningful cross-cultural understandings and inspiring a lifelong interest in international literature.
WWB Campus also organizes free virtual and in-person events including author and translator visits to schools and professional support for educators.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the education program manager, the fellow’s primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Upload materials to the WWB Campus and WWB websites for digital publication.

- Research and vet digital contextual materials for new and existing literature on WWB Campus, corresponding with authors and translators as needed.
- Proofread content including curricular materials, guest blog posts, newsletters, and social media posts.
- Write blog posts including reading lists and lesson plans, as needed.
- Research literature to be included in the next literary unit of WWB Campus, which will focus on stories and poems from India.
- Provide event support for webinars, author visits, and other WWB Campus events.
- Other tasks as assigned.
